Paul has owned this car since the early 90's and
started racing it back in '94 with a 2007cc motor
and a stock gear box and it ran consistent 13's
on an everyday street set up. Paul did much of
the resoration work himself only farming out paint
and interior. Over the last couple of years Paul
has been running a 2387cc set up with a Type 1
box but for 2007 is upgrading. The car is still
used regularly on the street and is always driven
to the track. |

|
Greg bought his '61 Bug sometime around 2001 for
£2000. To start with he drove the car about
as it was but after a year he then decided to
take the plunge and do a body off resto and build
the car you see today. To date the car isn't quite
finished but it's getting there. The 2006 Outlaw
events saw Greg's first outings on the drag strip.
For the 2007 season the car will have a new 2387cc
engine with 48IDA's.

The Fiat was owned and raced by Jack Sacchette
in the States before being retired and sold on
to Eric Ballard at Erco. Ian came across the car
at Eric's a while back and a deal was struck.
Since the car arrived in the UK Ian spent some
time sympathetically reviving it and bringing
it up to current race specs and subsequently spent
2006 racing it into the 10's. The 2007 season
sees Ian returning to the strip in his '52 Bug. |

|
Neil has been into VW's for years and is currently
working on a 1951 Bug which will be fitted with
a 2276cc Type 1 and 48IDA's. Transmission wise
Neil will most likely opt for a 091 unit. Prviously
Neil raced a chopped '66 Bug which ran low 12's. |

Dave got the car from the States in 2004 and it
was briefly run in a partially completed form.
Over the winter of 2005/06 the car was totally
stripped and rebuilt getting a fresh motor, gearbox,
cage and paint. The speed at which this project
was completed surprised a lot of people and on
its debut at the 2006 VolksWorld Show Dave came
away with a trophy for his efforts. In 2006 the
car ran consistent 11's and revisions for 2007
should see faster times still.

Pete built the Fiat himself with the help of some
friends a few years back and it has been a regular
on the street and strip ever since. The car has
a 78.8 x 94 Type 1 2187 motor with IDA's and nitrous.
Among many features the car has a trick Vertigate
shifter system but then again this is to be expected
as gears are Pete's business with him running
the Cogbox. As ever Pete has some insane plans
but right now he's saying nothing. Watch this
space. |

Joe's 'Velocirazor' was originally a donor car
for another project but was too good to scrap
and the remains subsequently evolved into a race
car. The car features a 2276cc IDA motor and after
a few years racing 2006 saw Joe getting the car
into the 11's at Shakespeare County Raceway. Joe
also has a Fiat 850 Spider (The Sting) which will
make it's track debut in 2007. |

Martin's car runs a 2276cc engine with 650cfm

yet running at its optimum has already seen consistent
low 11's.

Due back out in mid 2007 Jonathan’s Bug
will feature a new 2387cc nitrous motor. The new
set up will shred the cars previous best time,
a 112mph 12.18 second ET achieved with the old
1915cc mill. As well as the new engine the car
has been totally rebuilt and has some seen significant
upgrades evolving from street racer to 100% racer.
Look out for a flash of Texas Yellow, it’s
not going to be hanging about. |

James will be running his 1969 Karmann Ghia coupe
in 2007 with a revised engine. The 1915cc is now
equipped with OMEX fuel injection and a Garrett
T04 turbo. For 2007 the transmission will remain
stock but an upgrade is on the cards. Safety wise
the car has a 6 point cage by Jon Rathbone. |

Andy's Bug is his only car and is driven every
day rain or shine. It features a 1915 IDA motor

ongoing project and 2006 saw the cars first 12
second passes. |

Debuted in 2006 Lee's Renault has been a regular
crowd favourite. An unusual choice for a drag
car the Renault has certainly proved it can cut
it. The motor is a 74x92 1968cc set up which frequently
sees the rev count sailing into five figure territory.
Lee did his own head work and stuck a pair of
IDA's on top. Looks cute but has a real bite 2006
saw it running low 12's, 2007 should see it going
quite a bit quicker still. |

Bernie's Bug will be hitting the track in 2007
with a 2789cc engine built by JayCee. It features
a Scat case, roller cam, Component Dynamic heads,
'baby' 56 mm carbs and a little nitrous hooked
up to a Type 2 transmission with LSD built by
Cogbox. Bernie's been into drag racing for a while
and was at the first event held at Santa Pod in
the 60's and at 62 he's still a confirmed addict
of the sport. In order to pay for this habit he
has been known to do a little bit of stitching
every now and then.

Jason's had his Bug for some time. Its features
include rare American Racing magnesium alloys.
Power comes from a 2332cc motor previously hooked

replaced with a Type 2 box. The car is a regularly
driven street car but still manages strong 12
second passes. |

Pete's '61 is powered by a WPS built 1776cc engine.
The motor features an FK87 cam, Jeff Denham heads,
a magneto and 48 IDA's. The combination seems
to work pretty well and the car launches suprisingly
hard for the displacement. The Cogbox built gearbox
specs are top secret. The car is all steel, has
Speedster seats, original BRM's, a Cotsweld 6
point cage, a Speedwell steering wheel and Berg
shifter.

Jim's race car features a 2442cc engine running
Autocraft heads and JayCee 'Terminators'. The
car was put together in-house at Cotsweld by Jim
and the engine and gearbox were built by Brian,
Jim's dad. With Jim's business being all about
race cars there have been a few changes to it
ready for 2007 which should see it running consistently
quicker than it has to date. The car has run consistent
mid 10's with the odd trip into low 10 territory.

Lil
Woper was originally put together by Bill Cicerone
in 1974. Power comes from a 2276cc motor featuring
wedge port heads and Hilborn fuel injection. The
car is currently running on methanol. The car
also runs Wizard Of NOS Nitrous Kit though this
is yet to be used. This runs through a VW transmission
with 8” shorter axels. In addition to the
Fiat Martin also has a 1952 Beetle. Features include
a Jon Webster designed chassis and a turbo Paradise

Richie's
Cabrio has been the subject of a slow but constant
evolution since he got it in LA back in 1992.
Having got the car Richie set about rebuilding
it himself. The process took around a year in
all and shortly after it was completed the car
was driven around Europe. The cars first outing
to a track saw it run a 13.27 and ran a 10.88
before it was switched over to a turbo set up.
The latest updates to the package include a revised
turbo system and a new cage by Cotsweld.

light weight wings and plastic windows all round.
Additionally all bolts, nuts and washers have
been changed to ally and titanium. Custom plastic
headlights, new Lucas indicators. This lightening
has also been applied to the interior with carbon
fibre door panels hidden away by the original
vinyl covers. |

is a Type 1 I.R.S single side plate case with
a Quaife diff, and a 4.125 R&P, (3.78, 2.25,
